
PIANISTA
Graduated from the Conservatorium of Pescara with a Diploma in Pianoforte (with E. Ponziani) and Composition (with E. Alandia). He has a Diploma in Conducting (with D. Losavio) from the Conservatorium of Foggia.
Following this at the Academy of Music of Pescara he obtained Masters Degree in Pianoforte (with B. Mezzena), Composition (with E. Alandia) and Conducting (with D. Renzetti, G. Serembe and A. Francis).
As conductor Marco has directed the Abruzzo Symphony Orchestra (world premiere of Miserere by F. Masciangelo and the International Horn Competition “D. Ceccarossi” ), the A.M.P. Orchestra, the “B. Marcello” Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra of the Conservatorium of Foggia, the Bulgarian State Orchestra, the Taipei Century Chamber Soloists at Taiwan, the Marrucino Theatre Orchestra(Cavalleria Rusticana e Messa di Gloria, Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Il Matrimonio segreto, Carmen, L’Italiana in Algeri e Madama Butterfly), the Orchestra “U. Giordano” of Foggia, the Orchestra of the Conservatorium of Pescara (Gianni Schicchi) and the Opera Orchestra of Teramo(Otello, La Cenerentola, Macbeth), Boheme with Plovdiv State Orchestra tournée in Holland.
He revised and conducted the modern world premiere of G. Braga’s opera Il Ritratto for the Teramo Opera Season.
Much in demand as a pianist, Marco has played with various chamber ensemble groups including “Nuove forme sonore” and the “Tosti Ensemble ”. In Italy he has appeared at the Acquario Romano, Sagra Malatestiana, Barattelli Concert Society, Palazzina Liberty, Sagra Musicale of Umbria, Oratorio del Gonfalone and for Amici del Teatro Regio in Turin. He has performed many world premieres overseas: Villeneuve-le-roi (Paris), St. Cecila’s Hall (Edinborough) and at the National Recital Hall (Taipei). In 2000, 2005 and 2006 he performed on tour in the principal cities and music venues in Australia and South Africa and Dubrovnik Festival.
He also worked in 2008 with Salisburg Festspiele as a Korrepetitor for a production of “Le Nozze di Figaro” tournée in Japan.
With the mezzosoprano J. Adamonyte as a duet they won several first prizes at international competition such as Renata Tebaldi, Maria Caniglia, Ottavio Ziino.
He has given Masterclasses held at the following institutions: Florida State University, Conservatorium of Western Australia, Xavier School of Melbourne, Conservatorium of Music in Hobart, International Opera Academy in Osimo, Aletheia University in Taipei, Solti Accademia di Bel canto and Wales International Academy of Voice in Cardiff.
Marco has worked as an official accompanist at various International Vocal Competitions including “A. Catalani” in Ostra, “M. Lanza” in Tocco da Casauria, the “Domenico Ceccarossi” in Orsogna, the Operimberg competition in Salzburg and “Mondial Chinese Vocalist Competition” in Taipei.
He also collaborated with musicians such as G. Bumbry, M. Bacelli, R. Bruson, L. Gallo, A Di Toro and
J. Adamonyte.
He has recorded for ABC Classics in Australia, Bongiovanni Records in Bologna (Il Ritratto by G. Braga as a conductor and The English Songs by F. P. Tosti as a pianist), for the Di Iorio Foundation and a Monography on P. Hindemith for the Dynamics label. He is one of the pianists in an ongoing recording of the complete songs by F. P. Tosti for Brilliant label.
His own compositions include music for Chamber Music Ensembles, Orchestras, Vocal and Theatrical Groups. He wrote piano vocal-score of Piccolo quia vidisti and Tantum ergo by F.P. Tosti for Ricordi BMG.
The live CD recording of Il Ritratto attracted high praise from the French critic Y. Buldrini: The conductor Marco Moresco drew out a wonderful sound from the orchestral players…who responded with beautiful precision to all of his requests, the orchestral result was at the same time a sweet and strong, tormented and drammatic soundscape.
Marco teachs Piano accompaniment at the Conservatorium of Pescara.
He was in 2013/2014 Artistic Secretary of Abruzzo Symphonic Orchestra.
